Our Mission and Beliefs

Our Mission
The mission of Saint Thomas Aquinas High School as a Catholic Faith Community is to challenge and nurture young men and women to develop their God-given spiritual, intellectual, social and physical potential, and to help them become life-long learners and responsible citizens guided by Catholic values.

Our Beliefs
As a Catholic Faith Community we believe:

  1. Our actions and teachings need to reflect Jesus’ life and be consistent with Catholic tradition.
  2. Students must be encouraged to strive for excellence.
  3. Students must be encouraged to develop moral courage and integrity.
  4. Students must be encouraged to pursue the fulfillment of their God-given potential and to promote that fulfillment in others.
  5. Learning is a life-long process; therefore, the ability and desire to obtain knowledge is as important as the knowledge itself.
  6. Teachers, students and parents work best in a climate of mutual respect and cooperation.

Ideals
The ideals which should be promoted in our Catholic Faith Community are:

  • A personal relationship with God
  • Respect for self and others
  • Accountability
  • The interdependence of society
  • Acceptance and appreciation of diversity
  • Community service
