Summer Strength and Speed Program

Saint Thomas Aquinas High School offers a comprehensive Strength and Conditioning program for young men and women in Grade 7-12.  All athletes are instructed on proper lifting techniques and safety procedures.  This program is designed to prevent injuries and increase an athlete’s strength, power and agility.  A completed registration form and signed waiver must be on file before a student will be allowed to participate in the Summer Strength and Speed Program. 

 

Coordinated by Saints Head Football Coach, Randy Dreiling, the Strength & Conditioning program is tailored to suit the needs of four separate groups of athletes:

 

Session 1:  Saint Thomas Aquinas Football Players; June 12th – Aug. 11th; Mon., Wed. & Thurs.; $200

     For students in grades 9 -12 who are, or desire to be, members of the Saints football team. Program is structured

     as follows:

       Grades 11 & 12                                                                         Grades 9 & 10

      6:00-7:00 AM:  LIFT                                                                    7:00-8:00 AM:  LIFT 

      7:00-7:30 AM: SPEED & AGILITY                                              8:00-8:30 AM: SPEED & AGILITY

      7:30–8:30 AM: FOOTBALL DRILLS (M & W thru 7-12)              8:30–9:30 AM: FOOTBALL DRILLS (M & W thru 7- 12)

 

Session 2:  Middle School Football Players; June 12th – Aug. 11th; Mon., Wed. & Thurs.; $200

     For the 7th & 8th grade football player wishing to begin a supervised strength program while further enhancing

     football fundamentals and athletic skills specifically as they relate to Saint Thomas Aquinas football philosophies

     and strategies.  Program is structured as follows:

     Grades 7 & 8 - 8:00-9:00 AM:  LIFT

                              9:00-9:30 AM: SPEED & AGILITY

                           9:30–10:30 AM: FOOTBALL DRILLS (M & W thru 7-12)

 

Session 3:  Non-Football Male Athletes/ Female Athletes; June 12th – Aug. 11th; Mon., Wed. & Thurs.; $150

     For students in grades 9-12 who wish to participate in a summer strength and conditioning program.

      The structure for all athletes, all grades is:        9:00-10:00 AM:  LIFT 

                                                                               10:00-10:30 AM: SPEED & AGILITY

 

Session 4:  Non-Football Male Athletes/ Female Athletes; June 12th – Aug. 11th; Mon., Wed. & Thurs.; $150

     For students in grades 7-8 who wish to participate in a summer strength and conditioning program.

      The structure for all athletes, all grades is:        9:30-10:30 AM:  LIFT 

                                                                               10:30-11:00 AM: SPEED & AGILITY

Families registering multiple athletes for Strength and Speed should deduct $100 from the total registration fees.

            

           NOTE:  Lifting times may be adjusted after Sessions 1 & 2 Football Drills portion is complete (7-12-17)
