How
Good Do You Really Want To Be?
When: Monday
through Friday at 7:00 A.M. from May 31st through August
13th.
Where:
Behind the gym on the east side of the building.
Why: So you can come together to build a base for
the
upcoming season. In order to reach your full potential as an individual
and as
a team you must put in the miles this summer. If
you want to see how good you can be, you
need to get in shape first. Successful distance running is all about
consistency!
Physical: You need to have your physical turned in to
the
activities office by the first practice of the season (Aug. 17th). Ask
your doctor to test for feretin levels. This is critical in distance
runners, especially females!
Shoes: This is your main line of defense against
injuries.
Running shoes last anywhere from 300 to 500 miles. If you want to stay
healthy
you will need a pair for the summer and another pair for the season.
Recruit: We want to continue to be one of the largest
teams
in Kansas. Talk to your friends and
invite them to join us and be a part of our tradition.
The Holistic
Approach: Character,
nutrition, endurance, strength,
flexibility, confidence, speed, rest, recovery, consistency and
progression are
all factors in being a successful athlete. Attend to as many as
possible.
Even
average teams run in the summer time.
The
good teams run consistently.
Only the
great teams run together consistently.
What
type of team do you want have?
