"Oh when the saints go marching in, When the saints go marching in..”. Today we recognize Saint Thomas Aquinas alum, Kerry Goebel ‘06.
Kerry is a Partner with Grit Hospitality, a restaurant consulting and management company and operates Pie Five Pizza, Cultivare Greens & Grains and Fuzzy's Taco Shops. As a guest speaker, Kerry sat on a panel that evaluated student pitches for a food truck business. “I was blown away with the quality of the presentations. The creativity and analysis from each group was impressive. It was really fun to share my thoughts and ask some tough questions of each student group.”
For Kerry, it is both rewarding and inspiring to connect with current Aquinas students. While as a student at Aquinas, he gained so much from faculty staff and other incredible resources that when he reached a point in his professional career that he could get involved and share his perspective, he jumped on the chance. “It is both rewarding and inspiring to connect with the current Aquinas students. I think that providing them with context for how the concepts they learn in the classroom can be applied in everyday business is beneficial for grounding their studies.”
Kerry’s words of wisdom for students: “Embrace the challenges and problems that life throws your way. Each represents an opportunity to demonstrate how effective we can be and how much we can grow.”
