Alumni Spotlight - Matt Rosentreter '05

"Oh when the saints go marching in, When the saints go marching in..”. Today we recognize Saint Thomas Aquinas alum, Matt Rosentreter ’05.
Matt is a Recruitment Manager for Burns & McDonnell. His team works directly with colleges and universities all over the world identifying and recruiting early career candidates to build and extend Burns & McDonnell’s Internship program. Another one of his team’s goals is K-12 outreach and getting young students excited about careers in STEM. As a volunteer, guest speaker and career advisor to students at Saint Thomas Aquinas, Matt is doing just that.
Matt is grateful to be able to speak to Aquinas students about STEM careers and introduce them to opportunities to pursue their ambitions. “It's beyond something I feel I have to do, it's something that I'm proud to do and remain a part of the Saint Thomas Aquinas community”. After all, he feels that one of the best parts of being a "Saint" is the community that comes with attending Aquinas, “The community expands well beyond the four years you spend in the classroom. It’s the ties you create while you’re there that last long after graduating”. In this crazy world in which we live, “being able to connect with others to lean on in tough times and be alongside in good times is priceless”.
Matt’s words of wisdom for students: “You were uniquely created for a purpose. I have no clue what that purpose is for you specifically, but I am perfectly confident that you do, in fact, have one. And you would be wise to stop being your own biggest obstacle. Your purpose is just like mine. It’s big, and it’s important, and there’s no one else anywhere on the planet who can fulfill it."
