Dear Parents and Students,

You’re AMAZING! Our seniors are completing their Kairos weekend retreats. They get a premier retreat, per se. However, our juniors have received an incredible You’re Amazing retreat conducted by Hard as Nails Ministries out of Syracuse, NY. They are a Catholic evangelizing group. Sophomores and freshmen received a presentation from Hard as Nails also, as did parents who attended the Oct. 28 talk on God’s Approval. Our hope is to turn up the pilot light on the depth and breadth of Catholic spirituality. You would be impressed by how our Saints responded to His call!

Extravaganza and Saints Annual Fund: so many parents have committed to making Extravaganza – the Show Must Go On – a success. Regardless of COVID constraints, our parents and staff understand that their support is critical…to ensure that we can continue to provide extracurricular activities. Given the stress of COVID on students, our extracurriculars act as a release from the grip of stress. We hope you will support this worthy event! Our students are counting on you.

Saints Annual Appeal is “unique” this year. Funds from the Saints Annual Appeal also support extracurricular activities. With COVID restrictions, we cannot offer the significant benefits of passes or tickets to Extravaganza when contributing at select levels. We hope you will still be compelled to support our students by contributing. Our need is significantly greater this year given the personal protective equipment and other associated costs when operating extracurriculars and school in general.

We have two major drives under way…the STA Canned Food Drive, named “Can-demic” this year, is a tradition. In fact, STA probably has the largest canned food drive for Catholic Charities in the Nation!! The other effort originates through the Salvation Army. Operation Warmth is an effort (until Nov. 11) to collect new or gently used coats, blankets, hats, and gloves to help families in need. Please send those items if you are able. We have collection boxes in the Commons. Thank you.

Finally, I am thrilled to report a very strong turn-out for our Open House on Oct. 26. We had more attendees and expressions of interest than we did one year ago. The student speakers, performers, and ambassadors did a fantastic job. Our teachers and coaches were engaging with prospective families. We appreciate all the work Mrs. Pyle, our Director of Admissions, and her team did to make the back-to-back sessions that evening so worthwhile.

Please keep up your guard on COVID prevention. We were doing well until this week. Numerous students had to be quarantined following a student gathering on the weekend. We pray that each student will be alright. As the number of infections fluctuates, we need students to wear masks, social distance, and avoid gatherings that promote close proximity (unmasked) for ten minutes or more. Thanks for taking care of the STA family! Your prevention efforts are appreciated.

Blessings-
Dr. Fallon
