Coach Henes has been an assistant coach for girls golf at St. Thomas Aquinas since fall 2014.  She has been married to Bob Henes for 30+ years.  They have 3 boys, all of whom attended Holy Trinity and St. Thomas Aquinas.  Coach Henes is part time staff at STA and is a Registered Nurse, with a bachelors degree in nursing, working as a Clinical Research Specialist for Liberty Mutual.  She is also an avid golfer and part of women's golf in Kansas City, team member for Canyon Farms Golf Club KC Cup Match Team.

Coach Best is in his 18th year of coaching both the boy's and girl's Saints golf teams.

During his first year at STA (97-98) he coached the boys golf team to a 5A State runner-up finish with an individual State Champion. Since then expectations have been very high – in the past the boys have taken Runner-up 6 times, and qualified for State every year.

In 2007 Coach Best won his first Boys Golf 5A Kansas State Championship!  And in 2008 the boys won back to back 5A State Championships! Three individuals have won the State championship tournament medalist honors (Joseph Winslow 3 times medalist, Frank Mader, and Mark Gencarelli). Coach Best’s teams have won numerous EKL and Regional Championships.  In 2011 the boys team broke a state record winning State by 14 strokes shooting a -4 under par 284!  2016, 2017, 2018 brought the 4th, 5th and 6th State Championship for the boys program.

In 1999 he became the girls head golf coach and continued the success of girls golf at STA. All but two teams since ’99 have qualified for State and in 2002 Coach Best won his first team Girls State Championship!  They have also won State in 2007 and 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, 2012, 2017, 2018!

He has coached six individual State Champions (Annie Giangrosso, Mallory Mahon, Gianna Misenhelter-3 time medalist, Ali Kruse, Baile Winslow, and Jordan Chael) during the girls season and has won numerous EKL and Regional Championships as well.

To date Coach Best has seen over 20 total players continue golf in college. The NHSGCA began the Powerbilt All American team in 2004-2005 and since it’s inception STA has had two All American nominees (one boy and one girl).

The Kansas Coaches Association 2002 Coach of the Year.  He is certified through the USGTF. He was invited to be a guest speaker at the National High School Golf Association (NHSGCA) conference in June (2007), the KSHSAA coaches conference in August (2008, 2013).

Coach Best was selected as the 2010 NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL COACHES ASSOCIATION GIRLS GOLF COACH OF THE YEAR!  "It was a tremendous honor and I certainly give all the credit to the many fantastic golfers that have built this program over the years.  They have raised the bar to an elite level of play."
