  4. Transportation form

All forms need to be turned in to the Saint Thomas Aquinas High School Student Life Office prior to the first practice.

Swimsuits: (information from Coach Caldwell)

Chloe from Swim Quick is our suit rep. She will have a fit kit available for me the 2nd week of Nov. Those that know their suit size, you can order directly from Swim Quick. I will add a direct link on the Shutterfly site to access. Boys suits are easy. Usually sized by the waist size of pants. You do get to choose a Jammer ( long suit ) or a brief… ( traditional Speedo style little suit).  All equipment will be available at Swim Quick as well. If you are not in a big hurry and want to order online, a great website is SWIMOUTLET.COM quick delivery and they have just about anything you'll need.

Spirit Wear:

The Spirit wear will be available to order soon. Order forms will be made available through both Swim Quick and the STA Spirit shop. Spirit wear is not required.

Communication:

Please keep the coaches informed of your schedule. The more we know, the better we can work together. I know things “pop –up” unexpectedly, and am willing to do my best to accommodate where needed. We can’t help if we don’t know.

Parents/ Swimmers/ divers, I respond best via text as I don’t have a computer nearby to regularly check email. We will have a “common “form of contact” for all, via Remind/and Shutterfly.

Parents, the school has done an amazing job with Social Media with sports and activities. They will be tagged on all of our sites to debut the Team.  All communication through social media will be the responsibility of a coach.

The code to join Remind is TEXT 81010 with a message of @staswim2.

Team Website:

The calendar is posted on the school website under Boys Swim and Dive. We will use Shutterfly to update results and load pictures.  You will have to have a request for access to join the Shutterfly acct. Once the confirmation info is shared you can then open a Shutterfly acct.  I will send out the request to all on the team.

Practices:

All afternoon practices are held at PIONEER TRAIL (PT) Middle School from 3:30 – 5:45 p.m. unless otherwise specified. The pool is located at the NW corner of 127th and Blackbob, 15100 West 127th St. Olathe, Ks. 66062.

Boys will need to drive and carpool over and get changed before the start of practice.

All will be expected to assist with the lane lines and prep for the practice.

What to bring to practice:

Swimsuit, goggles, fins, towel, water bottle, kickboard, pull buoy, paddles, shorts,t shirt, tennis shoes

Dive Practice schedule will be posted on the team calendar. Currently scheduled for Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 8- 9:30pm

Our divers practice with Other Schools and keeps competition tight.  We have a separate practice with Swim so we have two good boards to practice on. This also allows better swim time and practice for the swimmers having use of all 6 lanes.

Meets:

Meet schedule is posted online on team website or STA website

Meet times vary from 4:00 to 5:00 on weekdays and can vary on Saturdays from 10:00 to 1:00 depending on the host and the meet size

What to bring to meets:

Goggles (x2), towel (x2), warm “DRY” clothes to wear between events, water bottle, healthy snacks, ****SWIMSUIT****

Volunteers:

I will have a sign up for parents to assist with website entries, Shutterfly, Spirit wear and Team Dinners.

Sign-ups will also be available for providing snack bags, Gatorade or water for meets. I believe all want to be involved and here is your opportunity.

Expectations:

All athletes work hard and are committed to try their best and improve each day.

All athletes must have a grade higher than 70% to participate. If the grade drops below this, they will be placed into an academic study hall and meet eligibility will be followed according to the STA handbook.

All athletes will follow the guidelines outlined in the STA handbook

Our TEAM is like FAMILY. Together we make it what it needs to be. We encourage, we trust, we are honest, we do our best, we stick up for others and work hard to become better swimmers and individuals, we succeed!

Drug and Alcohol Tolerance:  an absolute NO! If Caught You are dismissed.
