Spring 2019 Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering at Saint Thomas Aquinas provides a great opportunity and atmosphere to meet other parents. Parent Guild volunteers organize many opportunities to facilitate camaraderie among parents and students through non-academic events. Signup on line and you will be called by the appropriate committee chair or Advancement Office staff member.

Would you like to be a Mentor Mom? What is a Mentor Mom?

The incoming Freshman Class of 2023 consists of approximately 225 students with over 110 of those families being brand new to the Saints Community.

The Mentor Mom Committee is led by Caroline Wirt, carolinewirt@gmail.com. Caroline divides the new families into manageable groups of 10-12 (usually by parish or feeder schools).

As a Mentor Mom, we ask that you make an initial email contact & introduction (content prepared by staff & Parent Guild) in May. This is always a reassuring email to receive for the families as it contains ways to get involved over the summer for both the incoming Freshman and the parents.

Shortly after the email is sent in May, the Mentor Moms are asked to personally call or meet with everyone in their group and serve as a quick resource for that family during the summer. To assist in launching the family for the new school year, another email is sent in early August and then again in late September/early October to cover Homecoming, Parent Guild & Extravaganza activities.
