Dear Parents and Students,

I want to thank you for the support and prayers for our students and our community over the past week or so.  I am working on an update that I will send out later this afternoon.  I understand it gets frustrating to wait for confirmed details when an investigation is ongoing.  Many of you are aware of the pain some of our students and alumni are experiencing...

Teens for Life - Respect Life Month Activity - Sunday Oct 24
40-Days for Life - Sunday Oct 24 is Saint Thomas Aquinas’ day to participate in this National Prayer campaign to make our community aware of the Abortion activity in our area and to encourage them to stand up and work to end abortion on demand.
We would like you to participate with us. Bring your family, friends, encourage your student to participate and gather their own group of friends and teammates to take one hour on Sunday Oct 24th.  We have the hours from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM to pray at the NW corner of College Blvd. and Roe Ave. We will have signs and prayer material for the hour. Each hour needs an adult to participate.
You and/or your student can sign up at the following link:
Thank you for considering taking part in this prayer activity.  Questions? Contact Barb Loughman, Ryan Best or Jennifer Jones

Purses to Persevere
Hello STA Saints parents! My name is Issy Earp and I am a Senior at Saint Thomas Aquinas. I also am the Founder of Purses to Persevere KC, an organization that seeks to inspire and empower women to persevere through challenges in their lives by providing them with a beautiful handbag filled with essential care items. I started this organization my Sophomore year, and since, we have provided over 1,000 filled purses to women in and outside of the Kansas City area. These purses help encourage self-growth and restore confidence in these women that might have been lost in trying times.

We want to remind you of all of the following ways students can access teacher and academic support:

  1. During STA:
    • Math HUB - a room staffed with two math teachers to provide tutoring and help with homework or studying
    • Writing Lab - a room staffed with an English teacher who can help with writing and papers
    • Meeting with specific teachers. Students have the ability to meet with their teachers during STA. It is recommended that they email their teachers and they will also need their planner to travel.
  2. Peer Tutors: We have a lengthy list of students who are available as peer tutors. Please contact Deb Castinado at [email protected] to request information.
  3. Teachers: As always, if your son or daughter is having academic problems, reaching out to his/her teacher should always be the first action.
