A Letter from President Schenck

sDear Parents and Students,

January is an exciting time in the life of a high school student. Grades start over, new semester classes, and dealing with new weather challenges (although most students don’t wear coats; I don’t get that one). We are also probably spending gift cards from Christmas on new items. The idea of “new” brings a feeling of excitement and possibility. It allows you to have a fresh and optimistic attitude. A quote I use often:

There is very little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative.

Our Holy Father has challenged us to “roll up our sleeves for peace.” The Pope also said to keep positive while building a better society. The challenge to have the correct attitude in this mission is apparent. We are united in our faith, but it takes some work. The birth of Jesus at Christmas should bring excitement to our lives. Find some way to allow Jesus to bring something new to your life. The possibilities are endless; maybe a new prayer routine or perhaps a new act of service. Either way, we need to find new ways to grow closer to Jesus.

We also begin planning for the NEW 2022-2023 school year in the school world. This means a couple of things for you. Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors need to enroll for the next school year by January 31, 2022 in Skyward (financial aid will also need to be completed). We will also go through the selecting of classes for the 2022-2023 school year in February. Stay tuned for more information like anchor dates for the new school year.

May God bless you in the new year and keep your family healthy!

Amor Vincit Omnia!
