What is Virtue?
Virtue means always trying to do good and being the best person you can be. It's about making good choices, acting with kindness, and following what is right. Virtue helps us live in a way that makes us and others happy, bringing our actions in line with what God wants for us. By practicing good habits and relying on God's help, we grow stronger in our ability to make good choices. In school, learning about virtue helps shape our character, guiding us to live responsibly and compassionately. So, virtue is not just about doing the right thing but also about becoming a person who loves doing good. It’s about becoming a saint.
What are Theological Virtues?
Theological Virtues are the supernatural gifts infused in us by God at our Baptism, which directly relate to Him and arrange for us to live in relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Three Theological Virtues are:
- Faith: enables us to know God and all that He has revealed.
- Hope: enables us to desire God above all things and to trust Him for our salvation.
- Charity: enables us to love God above all and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
