Coaching is in the Blood
The late, legendary Coach Mirocke would be proud to know that his grandson, Dom Mirocke, has followed in his footsteps, stepping into the coaching role at Northside High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Dom is the child of Coach Miroke’s eldest son, Tony, ‘75.
Though high school football was not Dom Mirocke’s first stop, it is the place he has always wanted to be. Having coached at various levels of the game, his journey wasn’t the direct path he initially planned, but he now knows this is where he belongs and where he is meant to be.
Coming from a family of coaching greatness, Dom Mirocke carries on the legacy of his grandfather, sharing the same core values and goals. Like his grandfather before him, Mirocke prioritizes not only developing successful football players but also preparing them to be champions in life. His player-first mindset focuses on coaching to the strengths of his athletes while maintaining the high standards that have long defined his family’s coaching philosophy.
Coach Dom Mirocke shares the same passion that drove his grandfather to success. His grandfather was all about the players—helping each one reach their full potential both on and off the field. That dedication was showcased in the 1971 season at St. Joe, where Mirocke led the Bluestreaks to their very first state championship.
Recently, the 1971 team was honored at a high school football game, and the consensus among former players was clear: Coach Mirocke’s impact extended far beyond football. He shaped them as athletes, but more importantly, as people. His legacy continues to live on in his players, students, children, and now, his grandchildren.
We wish Coach Dom Mirocke all the best in this new chapter and look forward to watching another Mirocke leave a lasting impact on the game and the lives of young athletes.
