Congratulations to senior Matt Brun, '26 for placing 3rd in the finals of the KC Superstar 2025 contest!
Matt competed on Sunday, August 24 at JCCC's Yardley Hall in the Midwest Trust Center, hosted by Abby Eden (Fox 4 Anchor) and Shoshana Bean (Broadway star and Grammy Award-winning actress).
Matt placed 3rd and brought home a $2,500 scholarship for college.

In its 16th year, KC SuperStar is an exhilarating “American Idol” style competition that awards a $10,000 scholarship to the most talented high school singer in the Kansas City area. Students from across the metro audition, with judges selecting 20-24 semifinalists who vie for the coveted 10 finalist positions. The Top 10 Finalists spend the summer preparing for a high-energy, professionally produced show where the audience, comprised of donors and guests, selects the top winners. Semifinalists and finalists are granted more than $22,000 in combined scholarship money.
