Lisa Andrews Voted 2025-26 Aquinas Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Lisa Andrews, our Teacher of the Year, chosen by her colleagues because she embodies the very best of who we strive to be. Lisa teaches in a way that reaches far beyond academics. She sees her students fully, meets them where they are, and creates a classroom that feels safe, steady, and full of possibility.

Her patience, her clarity, and the calm confidence she brings each day gives students the courage to ask questions, take risks, and believe in themselves.

Lisa's commitment is especially felt in STA Period, in which students stay with the same teacher for all four years. Lisa ensures each student feels seen and valued, creating a space where they can build community and receive the support they need.

Lisa’s leadership extends far beyond her own classroom. She lifts up colleagues with faith-filled insight, offers guidance with humility, and steps into new challenges with an open heart. Lisa, welcomed this year’s eighth grade class with the same warmth and care she gives every student she meets.

One student captured her impact beautifully.

My junior year math teacher covered her walls with whiteboards and let us move, collaborate, and even learn outside. It wasn’t called mental health support, but it helped me learn better and look forward to class.

This is who Lisa is. A teacher whose presence steadies others. A colleague who builds community. A woman whose faith and compassion quietly transform lives. Lisa Andrews is a blessing to Aquinas, and she truly reflects everything it means to be Teacher of the Year.
