Back to School Night 2026

Back to School Night at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School will take place on Wednesday, August 26th, and will run from 7:00 to 8:43. During this event, you will move through an "A" schedule of your student's classes, meet the teachers, and get some information about the classes your student is in. Please arrive a little early as parking can take a little bit (this is one of the busiest nights of the year!), and make sure to wear comfortable shoes as you make your way through the halls and climb the stairs. You might bring a notepad with you if you need to take notes. You won't have a lot of time in the classes, but it is amazing how much you can learn about your student's classes in that short amount of time.

This evening is designed to give you a quick introduction to each of your student's teachers, classrooms, and courses. Because most classes are only 8 minutes long (with a 5-minute passing period), it is not intended for individual conversations about your student. Your student's teachers would be happy to have those conversations - just please send them an email to set that up.

We are excited to welcome you to Saint Thomas Aquinas High School’s Back to School Night! It is one of our favorite nights of the year. 

To be prepared, please do this ahead of time…

• Have your student’s schedule handy. You’ve been emailed a sheet you can write in if that’s easiest. It will include period, room number, class name, and teacher name. It is pre-filled with the class order and schedule for the night. You will just need to fill in the information for your student.

Please enter through the commons (North or South), the main entrance, or by the chapel. We will have NHS students there to help you with name tags and to point you in the right direction.

We will start with prayer at 7:00 sharp, so please make every effort to be in your student’s STA period at that time.

STA Period (your student's 3rd hour class) - 7:00 to 7:10 (includes welcome and prayer)
1st hour class - 7:15 to 7:23
2nd hour class - 7:28 to 7:36
4th hour class - 7:41 to 7:49
5th hour class - 7:54 to 8:02
6th hour class - 8:07 to 8:15
7th hour class - 8:20 to 8:28
8th hour class - 8:33 to 8:43 (includes prayer)

Two Special Opportunities
There are two special opportunities before and during Back to School Night that you may wish to take advantage of:

• 6:00 PM - College Now/AP Information with Mr. Berger in the theater. Mr. Berger will provide information about enrolling and paying for dual credit courses, including the College Now and Quickstep coursework through JCCC, and the Nursing Exploration and Intro to Health Professions classes offered through Rockhurst University. • Lunch Account Assistance: Mrs. Sara Gilliam, District Manager for our food service company, will be available near the lunchroom to help you if you are having trouble with your student's lunch account. Her direct email is sara.gilliam@compass-usa.com.
