Senior Jordan Prue wins Prestigious Rudd Scholarship

Congratulations to Senior Jordan Prue, '25 who was recently awarded the prestigious Rudd Scholarship! Over 1000 students applied for this scholarship and Jordan was one of 50 students to be selected. This is the first Rudd Scholarship to be awarded to a Saint Thomas Aquinas student.

The Rudd Scholarship offers a four year, completely funded scholarship to graduating high school seniors who are Kansas residents and who plan to attend an in-state university such as Emporia State, Fort Hays State, Kansas State, or Wichita State. The scholarship covers college tuition, room and board, books, supplies, and other costs.

The application process is highly competitive, requiring applicants to submit two recommendations, two essays, and sit for an interview. Additionally, candidates must have a cumulative 3.0 G.P.A unweighted (or better) and submit their ACT or SAT score.

Our committee selects students not based on what they lack, but what they possess in terms of hard work, grit, determination, and character.

Jordan is a very active member of the Saint Thomas Aquinas community. He has been a member of the Bowling team, Baseball team, Band, and Student Council. He has helped his fellow students through campus ministry, Kairos retreats, Teens for Life, and was a leader for Breaking Down the Walls.

"Jordan has been to every (Teens for Life) meeting we have had and has been very active. He has been one of our best leaders, and is a wonderful student and person."
