Saint Thomas Aquinas Students in Halo-Multimedia Course 2024

Broadcast Video Production (HALO)

Students enrolled in this class will be responsible for producing the morning announcements, advertisements and promotions, and for providing sports event coverage.

They may also produce special event coverage, human interest stories, magazine-show packages, podcasts, and entertainment programming.

Hands-on training:

  • graphic design,
  • audio and video engineering,
  • directing, producing, camera operation, on-screen and on-mic talent,
  • video editing, and video journalism.

Prerequisite: DCA and application process/teacher approval


Digital Journalism ("The Shield")

Multimedia News historically was the course dedicated to the production of The Shield, the Saint Thomas Aquinas student-driven newspaper. The Shield features content provided by students, faculty and staff.

It does not announce itself loudly or intentionally ask to be noticed. In many ways, what’s happening would be easy to miss especially if you were only looking for the usual ‘signs’. And yet, over time, it has become harder to ignore.
