Band

There’s a spot for YOU in the bands at Aquinas!  We have two band available:  the Saints Brigade Band/Drumline and our show choir band, Fortitude!

Saints Brigade Band & Drumline

The Saints Brigade Band and Drumline plays pep band tunes for all home football games in the fall and home basketball games during the winter.  In addition to pep band, this group also prepares concert band literature for the fall, Christmas, and spring concerts, as well as for the KSHSAA Large Group festival held in April.  Students enrolled in this group are eligible to participate in the KMEA district honor group auditions held in the fall and/or the KSHSAA solo/small ensemble festival held in April.  

Fortitude! Show Choir Band

The band, Fortitude! is a high-energy ensemble that accompanies our two competition show choirs, Swingin' Saints and Saintsations.  This group meets on Tuesday, 7:00-7:45am, during the fall semester.  There are four (sometimes five) show choir competition performances that occur on Saturdays during January, February, and March.  The show choir season ends with a final "Last Blast" performance (on a Saturday).

Students enrolling in Show Choir Band must have at least two years of performance experience on their primary instrument.  It is expected that students enrolling in Show Choir Band will be available for all performances during the winter show choir competition season.
