Opened in 1928, the Uptown Theater in Kansas City, MO, is a historic venue designed by John Eberson to resemble a 15th-century Italian courtyard. This year the Junior and Senior students of Saint Thomas Aquinas will be transported to a Midnight Garden for Prom 2026 at the Uptown Theater. The evening will begin as the students walk the red carpet at 8 PM and it will last until the final song under the disco ball at 11 PM. Prizes, surprises and an amazing DJ await the students on April 18th. We have lined up an amazing team of faculty/staff members and a Security team to ensure our students and their guests have an amazing night. A tremendous amount of effort goes into making Prom a spectacular experience, and we hope every student immerses themselves in the magic of this special night. Make every moment count—this will be a prom to remember!

Check-in & Attendance Guidelines

• Prom will begin at 8 PM, and all students must be checked in by 9:00 PM.
• Please plan accordingly—make dinner reservations early enough to arrive at the Uptown Theater before 9 PM.
• If a student has not arrived by 9:00 PM, an administrator will contact their home to verify their location.

Attire

• Prom is a Formal Event. Gentlemen are expected to wear suits or tuxedos. No jeans or shorts. Ladies are expected to wear modest formal wear that is tasteful and elegant.  

Tickets & Entry

• Parents are not allowed entry past the foyer of the Theater. Parents are welcome to enter the side door of the foyer and stand in the foyer. Unfortunately, this is a limited amount of space. No entry into the balcony area or past the foyer. Parents that are coming to the venue are asked to use off-street parking so the parking lots are available for student parking.
• Students who have purchased tickets in advance will be on the guest list and allowed entry.
• Students who did not pre-purchase a ticket must present their Saint Thomas Aquinas ID and pay $110 per person at the door. Payment will be accepted by cash or check only. An STA student may not bring an outside guest if the outside guest does not have a form on file with Mr. Fox. Outside guest forms are due by April 14th. 

Security & Conduct Expectations

• All students will be breathalyzed and searched before entering.
• Personal items, including purses, coats, and bags—are subject to search.
• The use, distribution, or possession of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or vaping products is strictly prohibited. Any violations will result in authorities being notified and parents being contacted. This applies to outside guests as well.
• Students are expected to conduct themselves appropriately. Inappropriate dancing or public displays of affection will not be tolerated. If necessary, students may be escorted out, and disciplinary actions will be taken.

Outside Guests

• Saint Thomas Aquinas students are allowed to bring an outside guest to the dance, provided they have been pre-approved by the Student Life Office.  Outside Guest Forms are available in the Student Life Office or online.  Forms must be completed and submitted to the Student Life Office by Tuesday, April 14th.  Outside guests who arrive at the door without pre-approval will be denied entry.  There are no exceptions to this policy.

Parking

• Parking maps were included in the invitation.  If a student needs an additional map, they should see Mrs. Ball in Room 206.   

Parents, please encourage your sons and daughters to enjoy the entire evening of Prom. The Mixologist DJ will be spinning, and the cannons will be firing until 11:00 pm. Students will not want to miss any of the fun by leaving before 11:00 pm. No student will be allowed to leave before 10:30. They might as well stay until the last song is played and the Alma Mater is sung. Prom 2026 at the Uptown-- Enjoy every moment and make some special memories!
