Behind the Lens: Meet Max Broomfield

Max is a senior at Aquinas and a videographer. Max is an essential part of Halo’s morning news and is the face behind the camera at the Saints’ sporting events. Max also helps run the Halo instagram & creates custom software to improve Halo as a whole.

Max first got into photography and film when he was in grade school and had a lot of free time, “I picked up a camera one day, and the more I messed around with it, the more I wanted to learn. I now have many cameras, dozens of computers, and more.” Max says videography is an easy skill to learn if you have enough free time, and dedication. His favorite part of his hobby is being able to solve complex problems with videography, like manipulating code and sound production, in order to make the technology work for Halo.

Max said the hardest project he ever produced was the “Pink-out” livestream last year (Spring 2024), where multiple Aquinas sports teams played at once. Max helped live stream the sporting events and had to switch between events when something interesting was happening at another game. “It was really fun”!

Max contributes his time and talent to the school because he loves what he does. We appreciate his dedication to capturing the memories at Saint Thomas Aquinas. Next time you see Max, tell him, "Thanks!"
