Happy Halloween Saints!

What's Halloween without a little fright?

Every October there are two Halloween traditions that the students of Saint Thomas Aquinas love and look forward to. The first tradition is the Student Council haunted hallway in the basement of the school. The cost is $5 per person and $15 for a fast pass, or $10 per family and $25 for a family fast pass. The entrance fees of the haunted house all go to the annual Canned Food Drive, which kicks off the last week of October.

The haunted house starts in the elevator, taking it down to the basement where the scares start. The whole student council team is a part of the haunted house by dressing up as characters and scaring the students. Joseph Befort, senior Student Council member, says “My favorite part about the STUCO haunted hallway is seeing the massive crowd piling into the doors after the football game to try to get the best spot in line. Everybody on STUCO puts so much work into the haunted hallway each year and it is so rewarding to see all the excitement everyone has for it.”

Another fun tradition that takes place at the school is the Little Saints trick-or-treating the classrooms. The Little Saints are the staff’s children who attend preschool at Aquinas. The staff walks the children through the halls, class to class, trick-or-treating and collecting candy. All of the students love to see the Little Saints in their costumes and the smiles on their faces when they get their favorite candies from the classes.

Halloween traditions at Saint Thomas Aquinas create a fun atmosphere for all students. STUCO puts in so much hard work every year to entertain the high school kids and bring on some scares, while the Little Saints enjoy dressing up and receiving candy from all the high schoolers throughout the different classrooms. These Halloween traditions show a sense of community and family between the staff, students, and Little Saints at Aquinas.
